Tines Launches 3B: Secure AI Building for Enterprises
Tines' founder Owen recounts founding the company in 2018 as a no-code automation platform for security and IT teams — now running about 1.5 billion automated actions weekly — and this week's launch of 3B, a governed environment letting anyone build software with AI under enterprise guardrails. Drawing on 15 years as a security practitioner at eBay, PayPal and DocuSign, he argues not even OpenAI or Anthropic's teams can sandbox agents, that defenders should pair agentic detection with deterministic playbooks to handle 10,000+ daily attacks per customer, and that the bigger risk is models finding software vulnerabilities faster than teams can patch them. On AI pacing he opposes constraining innovation in favor of honest risk assessment, and says the self-disrupting pivot was easy to decide but hard to sell internally after their best year ever.
